HOST INTEGRITY TECHNOLOGY

HIT – FUTURE PROOFED CYBER SECURITY

To provide effective technical protection against modern malware, CLA is launching an innovative, resource neutral host integrity technology (HIT) anti-malware system into the maritime and shipping industry which will protect:

  • Communication Systems
  • Bridge Systems including ECDIS
  • Propulsion & Power Control
  • Access Control Systems
  • Cargo Management Systems
  • Passenger Servicing & Management.
  • Passenger-facing Networks
  • Core Infrastructure Systems
  • Admin & Crew Welfare Systems

Abatis-HDF, developed by our technology partner Abatis (UK) Ltd, provides unparalleled levels of protection with minimal resource requirements and no crew input. Its proven effectiveness, even in protecting already compromised networks, and unique characteristics make it ideal for use in the complex but resource limited on-board environment:

  • 90% effective including against ‘zero day’ attacks and APTs
  • ‘Fit and Forget’ technology. No need for software patches and AV signature updates
  • Protects all IT and OT systems regardless of attack vector or system privileges
  • Captures and quarantines hidden malware for removal by traditional AV
  • <100KB code size – ideal for resource limited on-board control systems
  • No degradation of system performance
  • Reduces maintenance and enables speedy post-attack recovery
  • Minimal energy consumption delivers reduced operating costs
  • Single protective technology across all ship based systems and shore based networks
  • Supports Red Hat Linux and legacy Windows OS back to Windows NT

Cyber security is a critical part of an overall security framework. We would expect to work closely with both the fleet and corporate security officers and network managers in order to ensure proper integration with both ship based and shore based systems.
